Set up an automatic payment

Help us by becoming a regular giver. A regular amount is automatically deducted from your bank account or credit card. You choose how much to give and you can vary the amount at any time. This is a safe and easy method and even a small amount each month makes a big difference.

Simply contact your bank and ask to set up an automatic payment to West Christchurch Women’s Refuge. Our details are:

Bank: Westpac
Account Name: West Christchurch Women’s Refuge
Account Number: 03 0823 0360242 00

So that we can provide you with a receipt for tax rebate purposes at the end of the financial year (31st March), please be sure to provide us with your contact details.

Internet banking

If you would like to make a direct online deposit, our details are:

Bank: Westpac
Account Name: West Christchurch Women’s Refuge
Account Number: 03 0823 0360242 00

Please include your name as reference.  Please contact us with your contact details, as we would like to thank you and provide you with a receipt for tax purposes.

Payroll giving

If you are working and would like a really easy way to make a regular donation to us, you can ask your Payroll team to arrange Payroll Giving. You are able to nominate a regular deduction from your gross salary to be gifted to a charity of your choosing. The scheme will be administered through the online PAYE tax system, so if your employer has signed up for the scheme you will receive the tax benefits on your donations each payday, rather than waiting to claim at the end of a tax year.

We would be happy to be contacted by your employer if West Christchurch Women’s Refuge is not already set up by them. The scheme is voluntary and employees can nominate any charity they choose. It costs employers nothing to take part. Some companies even match their employees’ donations as their own charitable gift (now 100% tax free for companies).

Make a bequest in your will

A bequest is a gift to a charity after your death. You simply include the bequest in your will by specifying West Christchurch Women’s Refuge as a recipient of your estate and a specific dollar amount to be donated. You should talk to your family and lawyer about any bequest you are considering, and you may also like to consider how best your bequest can be used e.g. a particular service we provide. You can contact us directly and to talk with us about this.

Funeral donations

Instead of flowers, people sometimes specify that a donation go to West Christchurch Women’s Refuge. This option can be discussed with your funeral director, as they will know the protocol for this type of donation.

Domestic Violence is one of the most significant issues facing New Zealand today.

West Christchurch Women’s Refuge Society Incorporated is the legal name of our registered charity. Our registration number with the Charities Commission is CC 30715. 33% of any donation to us can be claimed back from IRD.

All donations over $5 are tax deductible and we can provide you with a receipt once we have your contact details. You can make a donation in lots of different ways , please choose the best option for you. Thank you
